Energy Improvements

Mass Save is a statewide program that helps people of all income levels to save money through energy efficiency. They will do free energy audits of your home and offer discounts to fix problems they find, like installing insulation or buying a new water heater.

The state network of community action agencies offer help with heating bills, energy audits, energy upgrades like insulation and light bulbs, heating system repair, and replacement of old and inefficient appliances. Households must be earning no more than 60% of the state median income (this is a lower number than the Boston area median income). You can apply online for the Home Energy Assistance Program and that is the same application for the new federal Water/Sewer Assistance Program, the Heating System Repair/Replacement Program, and the Weatherization Program.
