The tenant services listed in this section are intended to provide renters with information about their rights, as well as information about programs that can assist with eviction prevention, rental assistance and related services. Maynard Rental Assistance Program (MRAP) 

2ND ROUND Applications accepted starting February 23, 2024  

2ND ROUND Applications will be accepted beginning February 23, 2024 for the Maynard Rental Assistance Program (MRAP). MRAP is sponsored by the Maynard Affordable Housing Trust, and provides $500 monthly rental assistance payments, in the form of a grant, to four selected eligible households residing in Maynard, Massachusetts.

Rental assistance for selected households is anticipated to begin June 1, 2024, and will continue for up to thirty-six months (3 years) subject to recertification of income and rent every 12 months. Payments are made directly to the property landlord/owner. 

The deadline to apply is March 22, 2024 by 5:00pm. Applications will be selected by way of a lottery to be held April 10, 2024. MRAP is funded through Maynard's Municipal Affordable Housing Trust and is administered by the Regional Housing Services Office.

Bedford Initial Rental Assistance Program
 
The Bedford Initial Rental Assistance (IRA) offers low income households (60% AMI or less) assistance in paying security deposits and first month’s rent in their new apartments.  For program application, click here.
The program operates on a first come, first served basis as long as funding is available and is designed to meet all Federal HOME requirements.  For more information see program guidelines, click here.

Lexington Initial Rental Assistance Program
(EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2023)
 
The Lexington Initial Rental Assistance (IRA) offers low income households (60% AMI or less) assistance in paying security deposits, first month’s rent and last month's rent in their new apartments.  For program application, click here.
The program operates on a first come, first served basis as long as funding is available and is designed to meet all Federal HOME requirements.  For more information see program guidelines, click here.

The Wayland Initial Rental Assistance (IRA) offers low income households (60% AMI or less) assistance in paying security deposits and first month’s rent in their new apartments. The program operates on a first come, first served basis as long as funding is available and is designed to meet all Federal HOME requirements.  The application packet can be found by clicking here.

Who can apply:

 Households seeking to rent a unit in Wayland or,
 Households with a Section 8 Voucher issued by the Wayland Housing Authority
