Wayland

The Town of Wayland continues to make a commitment and investment to providing affordable housing. Wayland has not yet met the State’s 10% affordable housing goal (see more here at Mass.gov).  The Town, through its Board of Selectmen, has supported many and public and private development initiatives attempting to reach this goal, and which are further explored in the 2016 Housing Production Plan. Wayland has been working diligently to provide additional affordable housing on town-owned land, and has captured strong Town Meeting support for zoning changes and land disposition to further this goal.  Completion of this town-sponsored development will increase Wayland’s number of affordable units significantly and will be a strong surge towards meeting the State’s 40B 10% requirement. The Town Boards charged with facilitating affordable housing in Wayland are the Wayland Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the Wayland Housing Partnership and the Wayland Housing Authority.

The Town of Wayland has developed an infographic sheet to provide an overview of housing issues and housing statistics in Wayland that interested residents can use as a resource.

Details on Wayland’s affordable housing inventory can be found in the Housing Inventory section of the RHSO website.
